What3word Signs: What Are They and How Do They Work?

What3words is a handy tool to give an exact location. When we say exact, we’re talking almost pinpoint locations, which are far more accurate than a simple road name or address.
Over the last few months, we’ve seen an increasing number of what3words location sign orders come into our bespoke sign workshop, so we’re taking a look to understand more about how what3words works and its uses in everyday life.
How Does What3words Work?
The whole of the UK and the world is split into 3-meter squares. Each 3-meter square has an associated 3-word address, for example ///indoor.myself.rather is the 3-meter square directly outside of the prime minister's home at number 10, Downing Street.
