We Only Use Natural Materials for Our Signage
We are proud to craft our beautiful house number signs out of high-grade slate stone. This ensures that your sign is natural and durable. We can craft our signs in any style, from classic and traditional to contemporary and modern, there's a style to match every home.
The two types of slate we use are smooth and natural. Smooth slate has had the face of the stone polished down for a clean and modern appearance, while our natural slate has its innate grooves and creases keeping its natural and rustic appearance.
You can see the difference in the examples below:
-
Natural Slate
Natural (commonly known as Riven) slate is an uncalibrated material that is left as is when mined; keeping it's innate, textured appearance. This rough stone is the perfect material for older style properties. We can custom cut this slate within the dimensions of 600mm x 500mm.
-
Smooth Slate
Smooth (commonly known as Honed) slate is polished down to create its shiny, glass-like appearance. This glossy slate is a great choice for new build homes, flats and offices, as well as indoor signage. We can custom cut this slate within the dimensions of 600mm x 500mm.
-
Welsh Slate
Popular for it's chipped edge design, our Welsh Slate signs look stylish on any wall. These signs are more affordable, but only come in a select few sizes.
Buying a House Number Sign
Ideal for busy high streets or residential buildings, a personalised house number sign is the perfect finishing touch for your front entrance, as well as helping friends and delivery drivers arrive at the right address.
The service you can expect to receive from The Bespoke Sign House is second to none. With some excellent workmanship. a friendly customer support team and an eco-friendly approach, we’re the house sign manufacturer trusted by homeowners worldwide.
Should I choose etched or engraved lettering?
This refers to the finish you would like on your signs lettering and it’s completely down to personal preference. Etched uses a laser engraver to take away the top surface of your chosen slate or granite sign to imprint your text on the face of the stone. The etched engraving is a soft grey and smooth to the touch, this gives a natural appearance to the sign. Whereas engraving is done using a sandblaster and engraves deep lettering into the face of your sign.
Do you supply fixings with your house number signs?
All our house numbers come with fixings and fittings included to match the number of holes requested on your sign order.
How much is shipping?
For UK orders standard shipping is free of charge on all of our house number signs. For international orders, shipping is calculated at checkout which will be visible before you finalise your order. You can see our blog to read more about our postage costs and production times.
What sign materials are available?
We have two different types of slate, one which is smooth and the other which is more rustic in appearance. We then also have granite, which is popular for a more modern and glossy house sign.
How do I fit my house number sign to my property?
To fit your sign all you need is a level, a pencil, a drill, and the fixings we’ve provided for you. All our signs come with an easy-to-follow installation guide, so you’ll have you sign up in minutes. Once your sign is installed, don’t forget to recycle your packaging!
